In this legally blonde poster you can see that its very girly already. The lady is wearing a bright pink dress. She is typically being presented as the dumb girl with blonde hair.in the back ground you can see that everyone has turned back around to look at her and she looks like she don't have a care in the world. These people are looking at her disgustfully. Being portrayed as the blonde women who dresses to impress, and her being pretty, makes her look dumb. All because she has a pretty face its almost like she cant be smart. She also looks very young like she has no experience or anything. I think she is being represented this way to prove that the way you look can not say how brainy you are. Also her little dog is even dressed up which makes you think she obviously has not brains because a dog should not be dressed and treated like a human. Normally people just wear the causal but smart clothing that's black but she has to stand out ,and all the people in the back ground look like they have just finished work. Them being in the back ground allows you to look and see the huge difference about the way she is presented.
The theme of the film is shown as horror the reason I think this is because first of all the word ghost is related to many horror films and books to do with spirits and the supernatural which many people believe and have been scared about for many years , it gives the clip a spooky vibe right from the start and gives the audience a taste of what they are about to watch. The fact that the shot is set in the dark and in the sea could be done on purpose so as the audience can feel anxious about the scene right from the start as the dark and being out at sea are very common fears so by having the opening scene where it is shows that this is done on purpose to give the film a good spooky start to catch the audiences attention just buy having the scene in a certain place at a certain time. At the start of the clip there is a woman singing and everyone is dancing, laughing and having fun, the music is quite calm and slow, all of a sudden when the wire starts to move the pace of the music increasing, this lets people know that this calm scene is about to go wrong and the increase of the speed of the music could be relating to an increase in heart rate to again grab the attention of viewers. When the big scene happens and the wire kills everyone on board the music stops, this could relate to the fact that death has occurred and the intense lead up and increasing heart rate has now come to an end as the music players and the rest of the guests are now dead and no longer breathing. Only one girl is left on the boat and she is left in pure fear and terror of the events that just occurred, this then leaves the people watching dragged in as they are left with the question of what will happen next and who is the little girl. Overall the title the scene and the music all play a big part in giving the theme of horror.
Harry brown
The theme of this film is shown as crime, drama and even thriller, at the start of he clip we are produced with a group of young boys who seem to be taking and forcing drugs onto one member of the group maybe to show he is good enough to be apart of it, the setting looks as if it is in a subway or somewhere private, the fact that they are in this setting and are handling drugs lets us feel as if we are apart of this group as we are watching amongst the crowd, the camera in being hand held so as to again give us the feeling of being apart of it, this is done so that it can bring the audience right in at the start to make them want to watch on. They are all dressed in black which lets us see that this group isn't necessarily good as the colour black is seen as very negative as it is dark and mysterious. The drugs produced are illegal which shows us that this young group are dangerous and maybe even violent. The next scene is of two boys on a motorbike being dangerous and riding around as if they own the place, you can clearly see they have no problem with what they are doing by their facial expressions. From the way they dress to the drugs and danger this opening is obviously trying to make the youth of today look bad, almost exaggerating every tiny detail to try and spread a message or even to spread fear or warning about the youth of today and to highlight to stay away and to try and stop them. The boy on the back of the motorcycle them appears to have a gun which represents the crime and violence of the film, he then goes on to attack an innocent mother with her baby by shooting around her to scare her and to make her feel weak, the woman is clearly scared and upset for her and her babies life, next the main event happens and the mother is shot to the ground, I think the reason she got shot and the reason she was a mother was again to highlight another issue about the youth today as it shows no one is safe from them not even a mother and a child. The music also plays a big part and when the shots are being fired the music would stop so that the gun shots were made out to be so powerful so as to show us that the weapon has taken control. Overall the theme of crime, drama and thriller are all shown by the way the characters were dressed to the way the music stops when the gun is fired.
Clueless
The genre of this film is shown as high school drama. The start of the clip shows young people having fun in a car and others out in the sun, you can tell buy the car and how the people about are dressed that these kids are wealthy and know what they want. The music is very upbeat along with bright bold colours to show the fun and excitement which is going on and that the film overall is happy and high school teen drama like. The next scene shows a blonde girl picking out her clothes using fancy high tech which again highlights the wealth, she narrates about picking her clothes which lets the audience see into what sort of character she is and just by her voice you can tell that she's high maintenance as she talks like a typical spoilt young girl who gets what she wants all the time. She talks about her dad and how he is a top lawyer which then explains the jeep and high tech wardrobe which most normal young girls her age wouldn't have. Overall I think this opening scene is trying to show what most people think of young girls whose parents have a lot of money, as she is shown as spoilt, also her hair is blonde which has the stereotype for people being dumb which again may be seen as describing her and other wealthy young girls as they are seen as this people who cant look after them self and depend on the parents money and have no clue about the real life or even care about and education.
Guardians of the galaxy
The themes of this opening scene would be sci-fi and fantasy, I can say this as the setting of the scene is set on a different plant which seems to be made up therefore not real. The music is upbeat and the man is dancing about although this is happy the background doesn't quite match him, the set is dark and very mysterious which gives the audience a feeling that something isn't right. As it doesn't match something seems weird. Creatures then appear from the darkness and they look like they are harmful but even so the character isn't bothered at all an simply kicks them out of the way like he doesn't care. Overall this film clearly shows sci-fi and fantasy through the use of the setting.
What lies beneath
What lies beneath has the genre of horror and thriller, it is set in a woman's house which gives us the feel of a more realistic film and then this means that the audience feels more involved and therefore right I the action with her. The time of day is night which adds to the horror. The scene builds up as scary sound affects start to play causing more tension. When the message gets written on the board this straight away lets us know its a horror as this is creepy and not normal. As soon as the woman sees the message she starts to panic and the true fear sets in, she starts to run for her life. You can feel her panic as she runs and you can feel the pure emotion. The women in this scene looks as if she's around 20 maybe 25 and in the higher class. Overall the theme horror is shown through the actions of the mirror writing and the pure emotions she shows when she runs for her life.
From this image I can see that the type of genre this film is in is fantasy, the reason I would say it is fantasy is from the colours, themes, characters, and the background. The overall look of this film poster is mostly positive, I can say this as the colours are bright and eye catching, the fact that they are bright means positive because most things that are described as bright are not threating or dark but happy and exciting. The colours have been purposely made this bright so as to make every little thing stand out such as the flowers at the front which usually most people wouldn't see but because they're so bright and bold it brings them out. The colour is bold at the front but as you get to the background the colour starts to fade off, this could show the mystery in the film or even give a clue is to what is to come later on, although it is faded and at the back it doesn't take away the importance it actually adds. Another way mystery is shown is through the design of the trees, they give off a creepy but very arty look, this lets us know that even though there's bright colours and flowers there may be another side to the story that is lurking in the corner and the tree is to the side of the shot. The characters are a big part in this shot to giving the theme of fantasy as we are presented with one girl who looks very clueless, a rabbit dressed in clothes and standing in a human way and then one man who looks mad as he has big bright orange hair with a rather quirky fashion sense. The girl in blue looks as if she is confused or in a trance, she is looking out at something which makes us think into what she could be looking at beyond what we are seeing, this gives off the theme of mystery. The next two characters are massive points in the shot and could be the main reason why this film poster would give the impression of fantasy. First is the rabbit, although it looks like a rabbit the way it is standing and the fact it is dressed lets us know that something isn't right with it, a normal rabbit would never be seen like this and they way the rabbit is seen as so human could also mean that this rabbit could have other human qualities such as speech. As this is far from realistic it really points to the theme of make believe and fantasy. The next character again shows the theme of fantasy as he has been dressed and covered in make up to show that he is mad, and the fact that there is a mad man in the woods with a very human like rabbit with a confused girl with strange trees and a big faded castle we can see that this film poster is definitely trying to show that this film is fantasy as everything in this shot is far from the everyday norm.
This picture represents family drama, we had three people stand in a line and to have their arms around each other which would represent the family and their relationship that they have, the picture we took is set with the people who show the family in front of a filed which has trees in the distance, we did this so that we could show the mystery to as why the family are there and what they have planned or even what dangers may face them as they go on a what seems like innocent family day out. The boy on the right however seems to not have the same passion towards the family and is giving the feeling that he doesn't think this is a good idea, maybe as if he knows something the others do not. Overall we have the family and the mystery which is why this picture represents family drama.
This second picture represents kids films, we had someone stand in a certain position to represent a super hero which can be a main and exciting feature in a kids film. We had the boy wear a jumper over his head to represent a cape as this is common thing that super hero's are known as wearing. The position we chose was having his arms on his hips and him standing up very straight up to show courage and bravery which are common for a superhero to have. The fact that he is standing proudly in front of the building could show that he is protecting or proud of protecting the building after it being threaten but him being superhero he saved the day. Overall the position shows a superhero and the building behind tells the story behind the superhero.
This last picture shows adventure, we had someone climb a tree and look as if they are looking out into the distance. This shows that this person is seeking something or maybe lost something and therefore has gone out looking in order to claim back their lost item or even lost as he is in a tree so he can see from a height to see more. The fact that he is in a tree lets us know that he is out about with nature, because he has climbed the tree this shows that he has come out to be adventurous and to explore.
Finding Nemo is a family comedy film which came out in 2003 which is the main reason why i would say it is one of my favourite films, not only is the film funny but as a child i think i found myself liking this film due to the bright colours and interesting voices the characters have, at a young age i found great interest in learning about the sea as it always has interested me. Not only is the film appealing to children but i still enjoy watching it as find it very interesting to watch the animation and the detail that goes into producing it, also the story itself is very touching and could interest many people young or old, even today my younger brother would enjoy this just as much as me, even if it is for different reason the main point and main reason i like this film is that many people from all ages can enjoy and watch.
